'Wake' is performed at 8pm Thursday 26th November 2015 by GIO and Keith Tippett
“The heat leaves my body and the blood drains away, thinly, quietly, on the pavement. Towards the puddles, the road, the passing cars, seeping noiselessy into the tepid stone.”

Wake is an exploration of the nature of grief.
The parallel journeys of the departing and those left behind.
The world continues on as we grieve, quietly, behind closed doors,
without fanfare, as the unknown way of the dying begins silently and in absolute solitude.
Led by Playwright Noelle Brown, Creaking is a collaborative Dance/
Theatre project with director Oonagh Murphy, Improvising musician
Cliona Cassidy and choreographer Emma O’Kane.
The piece looks at the discrepancies between the mental and
physical effects of ageing and has a cast of older volunteers from all
over Ireland. This development is funded by the Arts Council of
Ireland and supported by the Patron Donation Bursary 2016 from
the Pavilion Dun Laoghaire.
